Glad ya asked, pardner. Outlaws is an old-school first person shooter (FPS) game from 1997, featuring ex-U.S. Marshall James Anderson, who has been trying for the last seven years to live a peaceful life as a farmer with his wife, Anna, and six-year-old daughter, Sarah. Until trouble strikes, that is. One night, while he was away at the town's General Store, two outlaws in the pay of a would-be railroad baron killed his wife, burned down his house, and kidnapped his daughter over a real estate deal. With no other lawmen within distance, you must once again take up the pistol, and collect ammo, weapons, and keys; explore hideouts, canyons, and towns; shoot loads of outlaws, and do whatever it takes to restore justice, avenge your wife, and rescue your daughter.
Outlaws also comes with a boatload of DLC missions set during Anderson's days as a U.S. Marshall and a soldier in the Civil War, and includes a peer-to-peer multiplayer arena shooter mode. There are five gamemodes: Deathmatch, Teams, Capture the Flag, Tag, and Kill the Fool with the Chicken (KFC). It features a true 3D engine with 2D sprites for the characters and most items, hand-drawn-looking cutscenes using LucasArts' proprietary INSANE engine, interactive music via iMUSE, and an amazing Ennio Morricone-inspired soundtrack by Clint Bajakian.
So where can you get Outlaws? You can buy it for about $6 on GOG and Steam. Otherwise, you can buy the CD's from Amazon or Ebay if you're on Windows XP or earlier, downloading the patches from here.
